Annual Report Letter from Ellen Wiegand Executive Director
Dear friends,
We mark our first full year together at Beloit Meals on Wheels; what a thrilling and satisfying year we have shared. We served more than 32,000 meals – a 22% increase from 2014 and net fund-raised over $24,000 from our “2015 March for Meals” promotional campaign.
The out-pour of community support from our campaign this year was truly heart-warming. Throughout the year, we implemented ways to streamline our financial processes and record-keeping by utilizing QuickBooks to track volunteer hours, donations, and process client invoices. This has made reporting to the BMOW Board of Directors much more efficient.
With the many changes that occurred, one thing always stayed consistent – our commitment to serving homebound Beloit seniors the nutritious meals they need to remain independent in their homes – where they want to be.
We deliver more than meals is our utmost message to you all. By providing that daily safety check, from our friendly volunteers, 96% of our clients feel that daily home delivered meals help them live independently in their own homes while making them feel more secure.
The services we provide are about sharing our time and making an impact on each individual that we serve. The human connection is as nourishing as the food provided.
There have always been many ways for all of us to get involved with BMOW. Through volunteering, attending a fundraising event, being on one of our committees, or making a monetary gift to BMOW; with your support, we’ll be one step closer to ensuring that our program reaches every Beloit homebound senior in need.
With a weak economy affecting elders’ incomes, government cutbacks, the price of goods and services on the rise; BMOW needs you more than ever to help serve our local seniors.
Together, we are positioned to serve even more people in need this year. Please consider helping us reach our full potential in 2016.
With kind regards,
Ellen Wiegand
Executive Director
