12023_967552093290939_5552284164853501620_nBeloit, Wisconsin – December 16, 2015 – Beloit Meals On Wheels, Inc. is proud to announce its partnership with Janesville Nissan Kia Subaru this holiday season to help fight senior isolation and hunger, one Subaru at a time. Again this year, we assembled emergency / blizzard boxes in case of extreme weather or power outage when our volunteers or staff may not be able to deliver a meal. Food donations for the boxes were provided by Hormel Foods, Seneca Foods of Janesville, Culver’s of Beloit, Walgreen’s on Broad Street in Beloit, and North Atlantic Specialty Bag of Beloit. Also, the Wisconsin Weaver’s group crafted handmade basket ornaments to give to our clients for the holidays. These special gifts will brighten the days of our home bound clients.

“These wonderful events brought together local community businesses and individuals to support our home bound program, said Ellen Wiegand, Beloit Meals On Wheels Executive Director. “Our agency’s participation in the Subaru Share the Love Event will then make us eligible to earn a grant to help provide an extra layer of support to help deliver nutritious meals and compassion to Beloit seniors.”

For every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from November 19, 2015, through January 2, 2016, Subaru will donate $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charity – one of which being Meals on Wheels. By the end of this year, Subaru and its retailers will have donated more than $65 million to charity through the Share the Love Event.
