For nearly 50 years, Beloit Meals on Wheels (BMOW) veteran volunteers have continued to serve our great nation and local communities daily by delivering hot, nutritious meals that allow fellow veterans to stay in their homes where they want to be – on Veterans Day and every day. For the past two years, US Navy Veteran Michael Caldwell, has volunteered at BMOW because he believes the impact of the program goes far beyond wholesome meals. “We’re also delivering a connection, a friendly smile and a daily check in.”

Ellen Wiegand, BMOW executive director, says that “two out of every five clients we serve is a veteran or a spouse of a veteran; so today is a special day to shake their hand and thank them for their service.” Your donation helps provide seniors with not only nutritious meals, friendly smiles and safety checks, but also peace of mind for families, that live near and far, knowing there is someone there to raise a red flag if something doesn’t seem just right.

Get involved by volunteering to help serve our veterans. Volunteering is easy and impactful – donate your lunch break by signing up to deliver a hot meal and a warm smile to a homebound Beloit senior today!
